Competitive Play
Men
There is a competition nearly every Saturday for our male members. There is also a midweek competition at least once a month.
Ladies
Competitions are held every Tuesday for our Ladies, with an alternate played on a Sunday for those who prefer to play at weekends.
Juniors
Our under 18s meet regularly for both coaching and competitive play. There are regular junior competitions throughout the year, played both at weekends and during the week. Junior Members with an official handicap (28 for boys, 36 for girls) may also play in all senior competitions.
Mixed
Throughout the season we run a calendar of mixed competitions and matches. Either sign up with a partner, or we’ll find one for you.
Club competitions
Club competitions are a great way of measuring your true golfing ability and help you maintain your handicap. It’s also another way of meeting new golfing companions. We have a busy calendar of competitions across all our sections of membership. To enter go online, choose a tee time that suits you, and other members will sign up alongside you. Alternatively you can enter with an already agreed partner. It’s all about getting involved and enjoying your golf.
Inter Club Competitions
We have a number of teams that play in the various Hertfordshire Leagues, including both Men’s and Women’s scratch teams. Plus, at Hadley Wood we hold competitive and friendly matches across all sections of the Club, so there really is something for every level of player.
Social Golf
One of the perks of Hadley Wood is it has a relatively small membership and the course is rarely busy. Which means you can enjoy hassle free golf, at a time that suits you. We have three starting holes, enabling you to play 18, 11, 7 or even just 4 holes.
Our advanced tee booking only operates on Saturday, Wednesday and Sunday mornings, meaning for the majority of time you can just turn up and play. Also on Sunday mornings we organise roll-ups for new members. This forum provides a great way to meet and play other members and to enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that is Hadley Wood Golf Club.
